a quick history guide
“It’s a dangerous business going out your door. You step into the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to”
With these words in mind Luutse Brouwer set out to create a board that could facilitate both his dance and freestyle needs. He came up with a design named “The Platypus”. The worldwide demand for the board was huge, from Hawaii to Korea, but it was too much, too quick. Ultimately the global demand and financial responsibilities at such a high pace was too much for only one passioned builder to bare.
Werner Wildberger, the Duude, a teamrider for Simple Longboards, close friend of Luutse and successful business owner, together with his business partner Franz Schweiger reached out with a business proposal to Luutse in attempt to steer the ship in the right direction.
Werner & Franz have taken over operational control from Luutse in order to restore Simple Longboards back to a strong competitor on the market, while Luutse focusses on the team, marketing, and of course skating.
The future has much in store for Simple Longboards, production has already started in the new workshop, and in the future we will be focusing on more ecological and sustainable solutions of building longboards and repositioning ourself back on the market.
But most of all we hope that you, our family and friends will have the chance to be riding on a Simple longboard again.
